Flaky Smoked salmon is handcrafted at the Salar Smokehouse on the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides to a unique, exclusive family recipe honed by years of striving for the best taste. The result is a unique method and a closely guarded secret, which gives our ‘Flaky Smoked’ its award-winning taste.
The Salar Smokehouse is owned by Loch Duart – the first-ever Freedom Food approved salmon farm which is famous throughout the world for its sustainable farming practices and great tasting fish. The salmon used to produce our unique flaky recipe comes from the Loch Duart sea sites - one of which is right next to the smokehouse. The fresh fillets are salted and then carefully roasted in oak smoke - our secret method does the rest. Our product is handcrafted in small batches for assured quality and you can be sure that each mouthful will delight.
